Born and Raised in Union Co., Parrish graduated from Sun Valley High in 1990. After serving six years in the United States Navy in Italy and Japan, Parrish returned home to Indian Trail to pursue a careeer in cosmetology. In 1996, Parrish graduated from Southeastern College of Beauty Culture in Charlotte for Cosmetology and Cosmetology Teachers Training. After graduating he taught at Southeastern fulltime while working part time in the salon. In 2000, Parrish left teaching to work full time at Modern Salon and Spa as a stylist where he specialized in men's cuts as well as all aspects of color. Then in 2003, Aveda Institute approached Parrish to help open their Institute in Charlotte where he taught as the lead teacher in Cosmetology full time for five years.
